Former Wales star Jones lands a new role with the Red Bulls

FORMER Wales fly-half Stephen Jones has taken up a major new role after being appointed senior assistant coach at Newcastle Red Bulls.
The former Wales fly-half and British & Irish Lion will take charge of the club's backs and attack from the start of next month, under head coach Alan Dickens, joining a rapidly expanding coaching team at the northern outfit.
Newcastle rebranded as the Newcastle Red Bulls following Red Bull's full ownership of the club, which was completed in August 2025.
The new branding includes a new name, crest, and kits, with the club is aiming for greater success at the top of the English ladder,
And they believe Jones, 47, can help to realise that ambition.
He has a depth of experience after coaching at international level with Wales, in the Premiership with Wasps, the URC with the Scarlets, and most recently in Super Rugby with Moana Pasifika.
