There'll be plenty of festive dramas for your favourite characters over the next two weeks. Here's a hint of what's in store...

Christmas in soap-land

CHRISTMAS SPIRIT: Nigel and Pat UNSETTLED: Eva's not sure about baby idea GETTING CLOSE: Becky and Lisa FIRE: Robert and Aaron

As the week kicks off, Nigel's film screening takes place but it proves to be the catalyst for various dramas around Walford.

With Phil and Julie bickering over care options for him, Nigel confronts them before shutting himself away in the pub.

As his dementia symptoms intensify, past and present blur for Nigel and finds himself greeted by the late great soap icons Pat Butcher and Barry Evans.

As Nigel struggles to understand what's real, he eventually hears Phil out and the family sit down to Christmas dinner.

Christmas Day also sees the Brannings and Beales celebrating at No 45 but a few home truths spark fireworks at the table.

Meanwhile at the Vic, the Slater/Moons prepare to celebrate their first Christmas back together as a family, but Zoe is alarmed over a discovery. Later, in explosive events, a worrying situation escalates which has catastrophic consequences for all involved.

Coronation Street (ITV1)

Sally, Christina, Glenda and Bernie arrive at Debbie's hen party ready to help the bride-to-be celebrate, but she's a no-show, preferring to stay out of the way in Leeds.

Carl, meanwhile, is horrified to learn that Ronnie has a solicitor's appointment because his intended wants him to have power of attorney over her finances - it seems the villain won't be able to help himself to his sister's money for much longer. He does, however, enjoy another tryst with James while Abi is out - but what will she find on her return home?
