|April 04, 2026
A CARE home support worker has been struck off the care register after she was accused of letting a vulnerable resident rub himself against her and put his head in her breast area.
Cerys Nomi was supposed to be looking after the individual while her coworker went for a cigarette break when the incident took place.
The panel heard that Nomi, who was employed at The Rookery care home in Newcastle Emlyn, Carmarthenshire, was laughing and giggling, and began making what was described as a “shimmying movement” with her chest area.
A Social Care Wales fitness to practise panel heard how the victim, a vulnerable individual who was referred to as User A, was in the lounge area of the care home on the day of the incident.
Earlier in the hearing, the panel heard from another support worker at the care home, Amanda Hands, who was in the same room at the time.
She explained how Nomi had come in to look after User A and allow another member of staff to go for a cigarette break.
She recalled that when Nomi entered the room User A was on the floor playing with sensory toys and Nomi got on the floor at his level.
Ms Hands explained how User A then put his body against Nomi’s in the vicinity of her chest and put his head in her breast area.
Ms Hands told the panel that Nomi was “pushing out her boobs” and saying “oh, User A”.
