Town map creates a vibrant picture of local life

Nine local women have created a large picture map of Langport and Huish Episcopi featuring more than 300 buildings and life on the river Parrett.

The map was a pipedream of Kate Lynch, who shared the idea with Sarah Peterkin and Jill Lister in the summer of 2023. They set to work, making a large plan and began sketching and photographing buildings.

Miniature buildings were painted on paper with acrylic paints, cut out and glued in place. Work took place on Tuesday mornings and continued during the Winter.
