Our defending was not acceptable, admits Rob

BEING one of the more experienced heads in the Bristol City changing room, Rob Dickie knows that football - and particularly the Sky Bet Championship ~ is very rarely straightforward.

Having played more than 200 games in England’s second tier, the 29-year-old is more than aware of the fact that there will be bumps in the road over the course of the 46-match campaign.
However, that experience does not mean that the defender enjoys such setbacks, as evidenced by his and his teammates’ reaction to their first League defeat of both the season and Gerhard Struber’s tenure against Oxford United last time out.
For the first time under the Austrian in the Championship, City slipped below their usual standards as they spurned chances of their own and conceded from three different set-piece situations to lose 3-1 to Gary Rowett’s side at Ashton Gate.
Naturally, the manner of the three goals has led to some concerns from supporters around the Robins’ ability to deal with free-kicks, corners, and throw-ins.
Although Dickie understands the worry and is eager to bounce back, he believes the Robins have shown the “edge” they lacked against the Us earlier this term.
