Funding appeal as Louise sets sights on world title

> Louise Greer, PT in Gloucester at Pure Gym is aiming for the World's Strongest Disabled Woman title

Louise Greer, 28, from Gloucester, was just two years old when she survived a battle with meningitis and sepsis, which resulted in the amputation of her legs, left arm and all the fingers on her right hand.

Since then, Louise's life has been about adapting and overcoming tough challenges, such as learning to walk using prosthetics.

She discovered a passion for the gym and began lifting weights 10 years ago while at university.

After dedicating three years to training, Louise clinched the title of Britain's Strongest Disabled Woman for the third year running in September.

Now working as a personal trainer at Pure Gym in Gloucester’s Eastern Avenue, Louise is advocating for more people with disabilities to take up weightlifting in order to challenge stigmas.

In November, she hopes to compete in the World’s Strongest Disabled Woman championship in Texas, USA, having qualified for the event.
