THE ADDAMS FAMILY Theatre Royal Bath
-
THE Addams Family - A New Musical performed by Bath Light Operatic Group (BLOG) is a huge production, with 35 local ensemble cast members and 10-piece orchestra.
The BLOG productions at the Theatre Royal are becoming more and more ambitious and professional, and this new version of The Addams Family is a huge theatrical experience.
The principal cast members are so good it really is hard to believe they have other jobs outside theatre.
It is a big production, with huge set and special effects and it feels like a blockbuster, especially during the large chorus numbers.
Everyone looks like they are having great fun with this musical.
The show, and it really does feel like a West End show, opens with a hard-hitting musical number When You're an Addams.
Set in a graveyard, the magnificent backdrop complete with smoke, moonlight and eerie ghost-like figures the Ancestors, sets the scene for the hilarious events surrounding this mad family to develop.
Most people will remember the hit TV series in the 1970s based on a New York set of cartoons. It featured the Addams family members mum and dad Morticia and Gomez and their weird children Wednesday and Pugsley.
Add in extras Uncle Fester, Grandma and Lurch and you have the recipe fora cult TV comedy.
