Abusive teen made former partner's life a 'living hell'

A CONTROLLING teenager's former partner has revealed how she felt trapped and worthless throughout the relationship before finally escaping.

Rhylie Willoughby, 19, was in a relationship with his victim for just over three years on and off, during which he physically and emotionally abused her.

Willoughby, of Uglow Close in Camborne, appeared at Truro Crown Court on Thursday, May 15 having pleaded guilty to one count of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and one count of coercive behaviour in an intimate relationship.

"When I was in a relationship with Rhylie I felt isolated, embarrassed and pretty much constantly scared," the victim said in an impact statement.

"I didn't know what the next day was going to bring. I worried about money a lot and I was scared of him kicking off about weed. I was tired, exhausted from worrying and I felt like I couldn't get out.

"I was questioning my worth and insecurities due to Rhylie saying I was fat a lot of the time.
