THE Bank Holiday weekend saw both of Taunton Baseball Club's sides take to the diamond in the South West & Wales Baseball League, alongside an international sojourn for a couple of the players.

The Muskets made the trip to Bris-tol Bats, while the Pistols hosted the Cornish Pioneers at Taunton Green. The Serpents, the league’s women’s team, headed to Dunkirk for a tour-nament hosted by Hauts-de-France.
The Pistols enjoyed the best of the weekend's results, splitting their double-header, while the Muskets succumbed to a sweep. In Dunkirk, the Serpents - with Gemma O'Toole and Sarah Marsh from Taunton - won two of their three games.
The Serpents defeated the hosts 10-9, before beating a combined Strasbourg & Normandy side 12-4. This set up a final against the com-bined side again on Sunday, but the Serpents fell to a 7-4 defeat. Bristol's Kat Golick was named Best Hitter of the tournament, with a 1.000 per cent average over the weekend.
