WALES U20 are sweating on the fitness of two key backline players ahead of this summer's World Rugby U20 Championship in Italy.

Outside-half Harri Wilde and wing Tom Bowen have both picked up hamstring injuries and face a race against time to recover for the event.

Cardiff Rugby academy manager Gruff Rees has confirmed both players are undergoing treatment and the hope is they can be back to full fitness within five weeks. Wilde is already a few weeks into his rehab, while Bowen picked up his injury in the Super Rygbi Cymru quarter-final win by Cardiff against Bridgend on May 3.

"Harri and Tom have both have suffered hamstring injuries and are undergoing intense treatment to try to ensure they can play at the World Rugby tournament in the summer. We are hopeful they can pull through in time,’ said Rees.
