SHEEHAN SETS HIS SIGHTS HIGH

ALAN Sheehan says he's expecting new arrivals at Swansea City and says work for the upcoming summer transfer window is already well under way.

Sheehan has signed a three-year deal with the club, in a move that's put an end to weeks of speculation after the sacking of Luke Williams in February.

Having served as interim boss with much distinction, his permanent appointment means the Swans are now able to press ahead with recruitment plans for the summer, with several key areas of the squad in need of strengthening.

It's understood the process of identifying potential targets has already begun, with Sheehan himself claiming he is expecting additions to the squad, having already held meetings with the club's recruitment team.

"A good pre-season is key," he said in his first interview with the club.

"We're going to have new faces, and there will be people obviously leaving the building so it will be somewhat of a new group.

"We've been working already with Adam (Worth), Richard (Montague) and James (Morgan-Snowley) in meetings and they're really determined to put a competitive team in place for the Championship, and recruit some players that fit in with what we want to do.
