Drug dealer spared prison after 'turning life around'

A DRUG dealer turned violent and tried to flee when he was stopped by plainclothes police in a boutique city-centre hotel.

Connor Griffiths, who was involved in selling crack cocaine and cocaine, was handcuffed and arrested in the reception of the Hotel Indigo, Cardiff.
A search of his iPhone showed the defendant was selling the Class A drugs and working for a third party named as “Roger”, Newport Crown Court was told.
Police arrived at the hotel after receiving a tip-off. When they searched room 501, which Griffiths was using, a quantity of the drugs were found. When the defendant walked back into the lobby of the city-centre hotel, plainclothes officers arrested him, but he turned violent and tried to run off.
