ENGLAND will kick-off their World Cup campaign in the American Football-loving city of Dallas, it was announced last night.

- PATRICK HILL

The Three Lions will travel to the Texan city, nearly 5,000 miles from Wembley, to play Croatia in their first Group L match on June 17 next year.

They will then move up to America's east coast where they will face Ghana in Boston on June 23 before taking on Panama in New Jersey in their final group game on June 27.

Fans last night began booking flights and hotels ahead of the next ticketing phase on December 11.

Return flights to Dallas from London in economy, departing the day before the match, were last night available for about £1,000 but are expected to soar in price. And one night at the city's fourstar Sheraton hotel on matchday was available for a cool £617.

Harry Kane and his teammates face a 1,760m-mile journey from Dallas for their group game in Boston with flights taking just under four hours.

In contrast rivals Scotland will remain in Boston for both their first two games, before a trip south to Miami for the final group match.

It must grate. Sir Jim has to pay £16million to 'foreign workers' that caused expensive chaos while Carrick is inexpensive normality ... we know which one United need right now

CONSIDERING he objects to the United Kingdom being \"colonised by immigrants\", it is a touch ironic that Sir Jim Ratcliffe is having to set aside the best part of £16million to pay off a small group of foreign workers.
