Paedo teacher bleats he should be taken off sex offenders register

A TEACHER who was jailed for fleeing to France with a pupil he was having sex with has spoken publicly for the first time about the scandal.

Jeremy Forrest sparked an international manhunt when he ran off with the 15-year-old girl in 2012.

Now 43 and out of jail, shameless Forrest says he wants to be removed from the sex offenders register - meaning police would no longer monitor him.

He said: "The plan has always been that with my liaison officer."

Sex offenders can apply to be taken off the list after 15 years, meaning Forrest could be eligible in 2028.

In 2013 he admitted five counts of sex with a child and was convicted by a jury at Lewes Crown Court of child abduction.

A judge jailed him for five and half years and ordered him to sign the sex offenders register for life.

Then aged 30, Forrest groomed the youngster at a school where he taught maths in Eastbourne, East Sussex, then had sex with her in his car, hotels and his marital home.
