Brit teenager being touted as successor to Hamilton's throne

HE HAS raced in Formula 1 just three times, but already Oliver Bearman has been anointed as the heir to Lewis Hamilton's Ferrari crown.

A stellar debut for Ferrari in Saudi Arabia last year helped the young Brit land his first full-time race seat for 2025 with customer team Haas.

But he remains very much a Ferrari driver and the Italians hope he will develop into the natural replacement for 40-year-old Hamilton when he retires.

Not that Bearman, 19, will be drawn on that potential future right now.

"Hopefully, I'll be able to keep an eye on the Ferraris that means we're as quick as them or close to them!" he said jokingly.

"Of course, I'll be watching Lewis. I hope that he does really well. It's such an iconic move in F1 history and I wish him the very best."

Motorsport lovers have long tracked Bearman's progress as one of the most talented youngsters of his age group.
