Tuchel's reign starts with Spurs v Magpies game

Thomas Tuchel will mark the official start of his England reign by watching Tottenham Hotspur play Newcastle United in the Premier League on Jan 4.

The German was appointed as the permanent replacement for Gareth Southgate in October, but he began his spell in charge only on New Year's Day.
The former Chelsea and Bayern Munich boss will attend the match at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to check on the form of Spurs' James Maddison and Dominic Solanke, plus the Magpies' Anthony Gordon and Lewis Hall.
Tuchel will then appear at further games across the Premier League weekend alongside his assistant Anthony Barry, as he starts to prepare for England's World Cup qualifying campaign.
"You will see me in stadiums from January, yes. Work starts from the signature because you get engaged (in the project)," he said on Sky Sports on Jan 1.
"We will watch a lot of matches starting in January. I want to see the matches live.
