ST Engineering posts 8% rise in Q1 revenue to $2.9b

ST Engineering's revenue rose 8 per cent to $2.9 billion for the first quarter ended March, from $2.7 billion in the corresponding year-ago period, on the back of broad-based growth across all segments.

In a business update on May 9, the group said this was led by "very strong growth" in its defence and public security segment, with revenue there jumping 18 per cent year on year to $1.3 billion, from $1.1 billion.
Revenue from its commercial aerospace division edged up 0.1 per cent to $1.153 billion, while revenue from its urban solutions and satellite communications (satcom) business rose 4 per cent to $446 million.
The board has proposed an interim dividend of four cents a share for the first quarter, unchanged from the year before.
The group reported contract wins amounting to $4.4 billion for the first quarter, bringing its order book to $29.8 billion as at March 31. Some $7.3 billion of these contracts are expected to be delivered in 2025.
