I live in a three-generation household, where family is always close by. When my grandmother recently fell and fractured her hip, we were able to help her immediately. But what about seniors who live alone?
The reality is that many elderly individuals have no immediate family nearby to support them in times of crisis.
For them, even a simple fall can become a frightening ordeal (For some seniors, anxiety rises for when alarm systems are needed, March 16).
