Netanyahu's corruption case divides Israeli public

TEL AVIV - Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu testified on Dec 10 for the first time in his long-running corruption trial.

Here is what you need to know about the charges that have divided the Israeli public at a time of Middle East turmoil.
Q What are the charges?
A Mr. Netanyahu was indicted in 2019 on charges of bribery, fraud, and breach of trust - all of which he denies.
The trial began in 2020 and involves three criminal cases. He denies the charges and has pleaded not guilty.
Case 4000: Prosecutors allege Mr. Netanyahu granted regulatory favors worth around 1.8 billion shekels (S$676 million) to Bezeq Telecom Israel.
In return, prosecutors say, he sought positive coverage of himself and his wife Sara Netanyahu on a news website controlled by the company's former chairman Shaul Elovitch. In this case, Mr. Netanyahu has been charged with bribery, fraud, and breach of trust.
