Aug 30 South Africa (Turffontein/Durbanville) form analysis

RACE 1 (1,450M) (7) COMIC ARTIST would have benefited from a pleasing 1,160m introduction and will have more to offer over this extended trip.

(1) ZAHRA DOMINIA bounced back to form last time with a tongue-tie on. She will not need to improve a lot to play a leading role.

(5) ARTIFACT does not need to be special to have a say on debut.

(6) AU REVOIR TANYA will improve from her unplaced debut.

RACE 2 (1,000M) (5) MAGICAL PLACE has run two great races in a row. If he handles his first run around the turn at Durbanville, he will be hard to beat.

(2) DIGBY has been rested and gelded. He stayed on really well last time behind Rhydian up the straight at Kenilworth on May 13. If he does not need the run badly, he should be right there in the finish from a good draw.

(1) EUGENIUS and (12) VOLEGOV can show up on debut.

RACE 3 (1,450M) (8) ONCEINABLUEMOON has shown promise in two starts up the straight but will appreciate the step-up to this distance, especially with a 3kg sex allowance.

(1) MATROOSBERG (peak run) has both the form and experience to challenge the selection.

Newcomer (4) MY LUCKY CHARM could also make his presence felt on debut.

(3) EMERALD CITY (blinkers retained) can threaten.

RACE 4 (1,650M) (4) HAZEL GREEN ran a cracking second behind Wander Dune on July 26. From a good draw, she will go very close to winning.

(9) ONE DANCE finished her race nicely for second to Gimme What I Want last start. If she gets some luck in running from the wide draw, she will threaten.

(1) NEBULOUS was beaten eight lengths by Wander Dune on July 26. From a good draw, she could finish among the places.

(2) MISS WILLIAM has been rested for 79 days. She is much better than her last performance. She could trouble them all.
