First six EV chargers in Tengah launched; up to 32 ready by end-2025

The first six charging points for electric vehicles (EVs) in Tengah estate were launched on Feb 25.
By the end of 2025, residents in the new Housing Board town can expect up to 30 chargers that are suitable for overnight charging across five carparks, and two fast EV chargers at Plantation Plaza, which is the neighbourhood centre serving Tengah.
Excluding those in commercial buildings like shopping malls, there are now 4,750 publicly accessible charging points in Singapore, according to EV-Electric Charging, the subsidiary of the Land Transport Authority (LTA) responsible for EV-charging deployment.
This is up from more than 3,000 charging points reported in August 2024.
Installed at Block 112 Plantation Crescent in Tengah, the six new chargers are rated at 7.4 kilowatt (kW) and priced at 53.2 cents per kilowatt-hour (kWh). Filling up an EV like the BYD Atto 3, which has a 60.5kWh battery, will take 9 1/2 hours.
