Institute of Internal Auditors engaging with SEBI for larger role, wider acceptance

The Institute of International Auditors, India, Calcutta Chapter (IIA), is engaging with the SEBI to explore various ways of how the capital market regulator and the institute work together to ensure corporate governance and bring in more effective ways of meeting compliances, said Kallol Mitra, President, IIA, India, Calcutta Chapter.

“This is a very early stage. And let’s see how it goes. But since SEBI is the market regulator, certified internal auditors may have an important role to play in the whole scheme of things,” said Mitra, on the sidelines of the 32nd Annual Conference of IIA, India, Calcutta Chapter.
