Govt sets up panel to assess flood damage in Sikkim; approves ₹44.8 crore relief

The Centre has approved Rs 44.8 crore to aid relief and reshe T cue operations in Sikkim where 14 people have died following flash floods in the Teesta river basin, an official statement said on Friday.

The BJP-led ruling dispensation has also constituted an inter-ministerial central team to assess the damage caused due to the glacial lake outburst flood in the northeastern state.
