SC seeks fresh CFSL report on audio tapes alleging ex Manipur CM's role in ethnic violence

The Supreme Court on Monday directed the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) to file a fresh report on the authenticity of certain leaked audio tapes allegedly implicating former Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh in instigating ethnic violence in the state.
After examining the CFSL report submitted to the court in a sealed cover, a bench of Chief Justice Sanjiv Khanna and Justice PV Sanjay Kumar, asked the Solicitor General Tushar Mehta to re-examine the findings and place a fresh report on record.
