We published on Saturday extracts from the very interesting report on the jails of the province by the Inspector-General, Lieut.-Col. Hamilton.

A feature of last year was the number imprisoned in consequence of the Satyagraha movement at Tarakeswar. They amounted to 1,750, filled five jails, assumed airs of distinction, and gave endless trouble.
