A feature of last year was the number imprisoned in consequence of the Satyagraha movement at Tarakeswar. They amounted to 1,750, filled five jails, assumed airs of distinction, and gave endless trouble. Most were undisciplined schoolboys, many as young as 10, and it is ridiculous that the State penal system should be brought in to repair the weaknesses of domestic discipline.
