IPL: Sai Sudharsan, bowlers propel Gujarat to easy win against Mumbai

In-form opener slams another hurricane half-century before bowlers strangle visitors' chase

quickfire half-century by the in-form Sai Sudharsan coupled with a disciplined bowling performance saw Gujarat Titans clinch a 36-run victory against Mumbai Indians in an Indian Premier League (IPL) clash at the Narendra Modi Stadium here on Saturday.

Sudharsan continued his superb start to IPL 2025 with a 41-ball 63 to help propel the Titans to 196-8 in their 20 overs.

In reply, the Mumbai chase ran into rough weather right at the start as openers Rohit Sharma and Ryan Rickelton returned to the pavilion without causing too much trouble for the scorers.

Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma attempted to stage a brave fightback with a 62-run stand.

While Yadav came up with the big shots, Varma gave him excellent support from the other end with a steady 36-ball 39.

Prasidh Krishna ended the partnership when he deceived Varma with a slower ball with Rahul Tewatia taking a well-judged catch at deep mid-wicket.

Yadav emerged as the top scorer for the visitors with a slam-bang knock which produced 48 runs off 28 balls.
