Cops allege violent plot ahead of SSC protest

Kolkata Police have alleged that a section of protesting job-aspirant teachers had planned to hurl bombs and crude explosives during a demonstration scheduled for Monday outside the School Service Commission (SSC) office – a claim strongly denied by the organisers.
On Sunday, the Bidhannagar Police Commissionerate released what it described as an audio recording of a conversation between two individuals allegedly linked to the "Chakrihara Jogyya Shikshak Mancha", a forum of dismissed and unsuccessful candidates demanding teaching jobs.
According to police, the audio clip revealed plans to target security personnel with socket bombs and petrol bombs during the protest, referred to as the "SSC Bhavan Abhiyan".
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Bidhannagar), Anish Sarkar, told reporters that the six-minute recording indicated "violent intent".
