The property, measuring 11.5 cottah (1 cottah = 720 sqft), was recorded in the name of the Governor of Bengal by the custodian of the endowed property, Panchanan Dutta, and was received by the district collector, East Burdwan, Ayesha Rani. "We kept trying since 1983 to transfer the property so that it could be preserved better. It finally became possible today," Dutta said after the handing over was formalised.
