Guv okays KTR prosecution, Congress flags 100-day delay

Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Sharma (photo) has granted approval to the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) to prosecute former Municipal Affairs and Urban Development (MAUD) Minister and BRS working president KT Rama Rao in the Formula E race case involving the alleged misappropriation of Rs 54.88 crore.

The ACB will now file the chargesheet against the former minister.

Theinvestigating agency had sought the Governor's permission three months ago to prosecute him. KT Rama Rao has been designated as accused number one in the case, followed by thethen MAUD Secretary Arvind Kumar and HMDA's Chief Engineer BLN Reddy. The Governor's approval has now paved the way for KTR's arrest. The state government has also written to the Department of Personnel and Training under the Centre over the prosecution of Arvind Kumar.
