India has recorded a phenomenal expansion of social security coverage from 19 per cent in 2015 to 64.3 per cent in 2025, an official communique said.
India has recorded a phenomenal expansion of social security coverage from 19 per cent in 2015 to 64.3 per cent in 2025, an official communique said. The development has also been acknowledged by the International Labour Organization (ILO) on its ILO-STAT database.
"This means that 64.3% of India's population, i.e. 94.3 crore people, are now covered under at least one social protection benefit," said the statement issued on Saturday.
