National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO), the Navratna CPSE, marked the 79th Independence Day with exuberance and deep patriotic spirit, at its Corporate Office, Bhubaneswar and also at all its units and offices across the nation.

Brijendra Pratap Singh, CMD, unfurled the Tricolour and exhorted every Nalconian to become the champion of change and excellence, in their respective spheres of work.

Vedanta Jharsuguda : Vedanta Aluminium held Independence Day at its Jharsuguda operations. The week preceding the occasion was marked by several initiatives aimed at building self-reliance and boosting the spirit of unity among employees, business partners and community members. Several programs, including self-defence training sessions, awareness workshops on health practices, and a plantation drive, were held. Sunil Gupta, COO, said that as one of the world's largest aluminium smelters, their operations not only fuel core sectors but also empower communities through sustainable development and inclusive growth.

Gandhi Peace Centre celebrated the Day with Madhusudan Padhi IAS, Election Commissioner of Odisha, addressing the gathering of school students.

At SOA, VC Prof. Pradipta Kumar Nanda urged the students to contribute to the nation-building process. He said SOA had been growing as a multidisciplinary university with a thrust on research and had become visible nationally. He also stated that climate change had become a serious threat to humanity, requiring immediate action to combat it. SOA had set up the Centre for Environment and Climate and Centre for Climate Smart Agriculture to boost research to combat the phenomenon, he said.
