SOUTH Africans are fond of the outdoors and whether it’s a trailer, bakkie, caravan, boat, jetski, bush-trailer or motorbike we don’t think twice about hooking them up behind our car or towing them for hundreds of kilometres.

Advanced towing technology: Making trailer control effortless

Once we get there that things become a challenge because more often than not we’re forced to reverse into places and that’s when things become difficult.

Correct license needed

More than enough you must know that to be able to tow in South Africa you need an EB license.

In order to get an EB license you automatically received an EB license the most common license nowadays is a code B!

In order to get a towing legally, it’s that simple.

For those of us that tow (err, sort of) mastered it, it’s still a challenge and I have no doubt that many relationships have been severely tested by neither party fully understanding what the other is trying to say because going backwards with something behind you is completely counter intuitive.

Three German companies that have electronic aids to assist and if you’re a Ford Ranger owner with Tow Pack Assist you’re sipping on something old while your neighbours still trying to figure out how to manoeuvre a trailer and caravan into place. Towing aids

With a towing capacity of 3 500kg (braked) the Ranger also offers some additional nifty Towing systems like Dynamic Hitch Assist and Trailer Sway Control that make the journey easier.
