CHURCH Eaton seconds enjoyed a memorable weekend in NSSCL Division Eight as they secured twin wins.
They managed to see off the challenge of Newcastle & Hartshill on Saturday before comfortably beating Stone SP fourths the following day.
On Saturday, Church Eaton's bowling attack shone as they managed to dismiss Castle’s fourth team for 89.
Archie Wilkes (3-18) and Chris Marshall (3-23) took three wickets apiece and there were two scalps for Arran Peasley.
Thomas Kirk (23) and Richard Kirk (14) made the most progress with the bat for the home side.
Castle fought back impressively as David Abel and Ethan Shiunu struck twice apiece to reduce Church Eaton to 49-6, despite Stephen Taylor's 18.
However, the visitors managed to pocket a four-wicket win as George Tilley (21no) and Sam Pedley (13no) guided them past the post.
Church Eaton then displayed their batting prowess in Sunday's victory over Stone SP.
On home turf, Church Eaton piled up 331-6 from their 40, fronted by S Whitehouse’s 96, which included 12 fours and five sixes.
