Son’s brutal 8-minute attack on OAP dad

- Sentinel Reporter

DRINK and drug-fuelled Oliver Fury launched a savage attack on his 79-year-old dad - leading to the pensioner having two heart attacks.

The 42-year-old lost control and threw a stool at his dad in the early hours of the morning.

He then punched, kicked and stamped on him as he lay defenceless on the floor. Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court heard the brutal assault lasted about eight minutes before Fury demanded the keys to his dad's car.

Despite drinking 10 pints of cider, doing two lines of cocaine and smoking cannabis, he drove off and ‘completely totalled’ the vehicle in what appeared to be an attempt to take his own life.

Now Fury has been jailed for 40 months.

Prosecutor Jillian Newton said the defendant assaulted his dad at the family home in the early hours of August 1 this year.

Miss Newton said: “He started to punch and kick him several times as hard as he could. The victim remained on the floor telling the defendant to stop. The defendant picked up a stool and hit him with it before throwing it.”

Fury demanded the key to his dad’s car from his mum or he would start on her. She asked him not to take the car.

Police arrived at the address at 2am. Mr Fury senior was lying face down on the floor.
