Severn Trent is only water firm to a get top four-star rating in environmental assessment, amid the lowest combined ratings since records began

SEVERN Trent is the only water company to be given top marks in The Environment Agency's (EA) latest performance review.

Only Severn Trent Water received the top four-star rating for industry-leading Environmental Performance Assessment (EPA) for 2024.

The nine water companies collectively achieved just 19 stars out of a possible 36 - down from 25 in 2023 - marking the lowest ratings since the process began in 2011.

Geoff Craig, water Industry regulation manager for the Midlands at the Environment Agency, said Severn Trent’s top mark was a 'significant achievement.

He said: "Severn Trent Water has achieved our industry leading rating of four stars. This is a significant achievement and the only water company to achieve this for six consecutive years.
