Red carpet was good as Golden at the Globes

A GAGGLE of A-listers, a pile of posh dresses, some statuettes and a red carpet... stop me if you think you've read this one before.

Forget hit movie One Battle After Another, as I outlined last week, it'll be one awards show after another now until early March.

And after the early warm-up act of the Critics Choice awards, last weekend brought the Golden Globes.

The ceremony is said to be the awards show the stars themselves love the most, probably thanks to the fact it serves food and booze and guests can wander between tables having a good old schmooze.

Barring 2018 when all the female guests wore black to protest sexual harassment and raise awareness for Time's Up, the Globes also have a reputation for serving up one of the most varied red carpets from a fashion perspective.

They are a safe space to try something different, see what works ahead of the big daddy of awards season, the Oscars.

Which is what I presume Jennifer Lawrence was doing on Sunday.
