Rebooted England can win World Cup, says Dallaglio
The Sentinel
|February 04, 2026
ENGLAND are turning into a team that could win the World Cup because players can no longer coast on the back of subpar performances.
That is the view of former Red Rose skipper Lawrence Dallaglio after Steve Borthwick's men completed a spectacular 2025, winning 11 of their 12 matches.
After an opening Six Nations defeat to Ireland in Dublin, England rattled off a run of victories, including a first win over the All Blacks since the 2019 World Cup.
They also achieved a 2-0 series triumph in Argentina in the summer, despite being without their British & Irish Lions contingent.
That trip helped build depth with Guy Pepper and Max Ojomoh among the summer debutants to shine in November.
