Major homes plan for ex-Army base set for go-ahead

53 flats and houses to be built on vacant land
PLANS to build 53 homes on the former site of an army reserve centre are set to be approved.
The proposed scheme in Stonor Street, Cobridge, would consist of 14 houses and 39 flats in two three-storey blocks.
The site had previously been occupied by the Air Training Corps 235 Burslem squadron, which moved to a new building on neighbouring land a few years ago.
In 2021 the vacant army reserve centre was demolished.
Landowner Keith Parnell, of KP Parnell Building, is now seeking full planning permission for a residential scheme on the site.
Planning officers have recommended the application for approval.
