LEEK Town picked up their first Staffs County League Premier Division win of the season with a 4-0 home victory over Madeley White Star.
-
Will Robinson gave Leek a first-half advantage with Ashton Callear adding a second goal on 65 minutes followed a minute later by a Finlay Goodwin strike.
The victory was rounded off with a Rueben Pointon adding their fourth on 75 minutes.
Brereton Social remain top, despite losing 3-1 at home to defending champions Ball Haye Green.
Beckham Fulton converted a penalty for the leaders, but a brace from James Halfpenny and a Luke Morris strike gave Ball Haye Green the points.
Ashbourne are in second after a 2-0 victory at Milton United. First-half goals from Jacob Edge-Lucas and Charlie Wibberley sealed the points.
AFC Norton are in third place following their 4-1 demolition of fellow promoted side Cannock Dynamos.
Lewis Keeling put Cannock ahead, but Jack Turnock levelled matters in the 34th minute.
Jon Hughes added to Norton’s tally on the stroke of halftime. In the second period it was Hughes who found the net once again to make it three with a fourth arriving seven minutes from time through Nathan Rowley.
Rocester won 4-2 at home against Audley in their meeting.
The visitors took a first-minute lead through Oakley Day, but striker Jordon Dodd imposed himself on the game firing home a brace with goals arriving on 12 and 19 minutes.
Although Audley did hoist themselves back into the game with a penalty converted by Joshua Wilson, a late Jordan Mayer double sealed the victory.
Redgate Clayton prevailed 2-1 on their visit to Wolstanton United.
Wolstanton skipper Jeff Bailey headed home in the 11th minute and for most of the first period looked well in control but a mix-up in the Stant defence allowed the pacey Elisio Francisco to latch on to the ball and neatly thread it past the onrushing goalkeeper Isaac Springett.
From that point on Gate were back in the game forcing the agile Springett into a series of superb saves.
