Porter believes Port Vale can turn their present League One form around - but insists they'll need a bit of luck go there way to do it.The Vale Supporters' Club chairman was looking forward to seeing Vale attempt to get back on track in the league following two cup wins in which they have scored six goals.
But the club's home clash with Bradford last night was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
Just three days after boss Darren Moore praised ground staff for the work they did to get the Bristol Rovers game on, as well as the club's owners Carol and Kevin Shanahan for investing in the surface in the summer, the club could do nothing to prevent Tuesday's cancellation after another deluge.
A club statement was published at 2pm on the day of the game and said: "Following a pitch inspection, the Vale Park playing surface has been deemed unplayable by the match official due to large amounts of standing water.
"This evening's match against Bradford City has been postponed." The club were praised on social media for the decision being made early enough to stop around 3,000 City fans travelling from Yorkshire.
Whether the postponement was a good thing from Vale's point of view remains to be seen.
