Hospital hailed for 'exemplary' work on brain tumours

Trust part of 14 centres of excellence aiming to ensure patients benefit from best standard of care and research
THE trust running Stoke-on-Trent's main hospital has been named as a regional centre of excellence for neuro-oncology.
The award recognises University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust's leading role in the treatment, care and research of brain tumours.
The trust's psychological support for brain tumour patients has been cited as 'exemplary.
It has been honoured by the Tessa Jowell Brain Cancer Mission (TJBCM) as part of the West Midlands Centre of Excellence for Neuro-Oncology, alongside University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust and the University of Birmingham.
