Here comes the summer!

Head to the Potteries' urban beach for family fun, live music and food

LIVE MUSIC, an urban beach and tasty treats will be on offer at the launch of a month-long summer of fun in the city centre.

Smithfield Summer, which starts on Saturday, is free to attend and will feature children's activities, including kite flying and a big family barbecue, taking place on dedicated weekends.

The opening event will see Potteries musician Ash Wall and his band Scratch perform in the Smithfield development.

Food vendors such as Scrumbles, GGs kitchen and Really Truly Scrumptious Sweets will be located near the urban beach.

Organiser Adele Simmons said: "We cannot wait to welcome everyone to our opening event.
