A TOWN centre has expanded its cultural horizons - with the launch of an authentic Polish bar.
Castletown Podzamcze welcomed its first punters at the weekend.
The new bar has taken over the premises of Castletown Distillery, on Hick Street, Newcastle.
Now owners Jola Wrzesniak and Robert Terpilowski are hoping to transform the tucked-away venue into a success.
Castletown Podzamcze will initially be open from noon until midnight on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, with more opening times to be announced in December.
Jola, of Sneyd Green, said: "I've been working in hospitality for the last 25 years as a restaurant manager.
