MARION MCMULLEN looks back at the launch of star-studded comedy Extras 20 years ago
THE publicity for Extras proclaimed “Once in a great while a man really has a chance to shine. This is not that man”.
The BBC comedy launched 20 years ago, on July 21, and was written by The Office creators Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant. Ricky played wannabe star Andy Millman with Stephen as his inept agent, Darren Lamb.
