Children discovering a 'real love of reading'

8,000 and counting sign up to summer challenge

A THOUSAND more children have signed up to this year's Staffordshire Summer Reading Challenge than at the same point last year.

More than 8,000 youngsters are now taking part in the event since it launched last month.

The challenge, which continues until September 14, aims to encourage children to read during the summer holidays by handing out stickers for each visit to the library and those that complete the challenge will receive a certificate, medal and seed shape for planting.
