The Sentinel
|September 18, 2025
CAVERSWALL took another step towards the NSSCL Division Six title with a thumping 10-wicket home win against Kidsgrove seconds.
The table-toppers now need eight points from the last match - at bottom-of-the-table Woore seconds - to secure the crown.
They set sail towards another success on Saturday as D Halahakone’s 5-4 instigated Grove’s downfall to 43 all out. S Beckett top-scored with 19.
Caverswall required just 3.5 overs to knock off runs as R King made an unbeaten 18 and G Moore finished on 12 not out.
Endon seconds sealed the second promotion spot without bowling a ball.
Their scheduled opponents Wedgwood seconds conceded the fixture at the weekend.
Oakamoor thirds romped to a 10-wicket success at their Meakins counterparts.
Callum Cross (5-22) and Mike Worthington (3-7) were in top form with the ball to send Meakins sliding to 39 all out.
Andy Reed offered the primary resistance with 15, while Harvey Sockett contributed 10.
