Woman left family living in 'constant fear'
NIGHTMARE neighbour Nina Shim shouted and banged on walls during a campaign of harassment against a family next door.
The 52-year-old verbally abused her neighbours - including children - over an 18-month period.
Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court heard how Shim had been suffering from bereavement during the lockdown which made her act 'out of character. Shim told the court she couldn't believe how she had acted and has issued an apology to her victims.
Now the defendant has avoided jail after pleading guilty to three counts of putting a person in fear of violence by harassment.
Prosecutor Fiona Cortese said the harassment started in December 2023 and ended in June 2024. She added: "The family were distressed at home which lasted for 18 months and they were living in constant fear. They had to install CCTV, soundproofing, install a side gate, move the children's bedroom and one of the children had to stay with other relatives for a while."
