MORE than one-third of adults in Stoke-on-Trent are living with obesity, according to the latest data.
The city is one of a growing number of areas across England where the adult population is overweight.
The figures have been published by the Office for Health Improvement and Disparities using data from the Sport England Active Lives Adult Survey.
They show that in Stoke-on-Trent, 34.7 percent of adults are estimated to be living with obesity - which is 26.3 percent of the adult population in the city.
The number of people overweight is down on figures from 2022/23 (when it was 38.7%) but up on 2018/19 when it was 29.6 percent.
In the Staffordshire local authority area, the figure currently stands at 29.2 percent which is slightly up on 2022/23 when it was 29 percent and in 2018/19 (29.5 per cent).
