Bharat: Rising in Splendid Isolation

Bharat, essentially a 'Sanatani' civilizational nation state has to fashion its own destiny. It will rise, appearing to stand alone, but not necessarily feeling lonely, writes Atanu Pattanaik

THE 4-day saga of Operation Sindoor has left behind many impressions, reactions and feelings.

From a military perspective, this was a focussed, clinical, precision guided and escalation controlled retribution to a deplorable and brutal massacre of Hindu male tourists visiting Pahalgam by Pakistani sponsored jihadi terrorists. Bharat chose not to react like before, conducting painstaking enquiries, collecting irrefutable trails and evidences and share them with Pakistan and the rest of the world including its now largely defunct institutions hoping for condemnation and action, only to be mocked at as helpless and imbecile, incapable of any decisive action, and only waiting for more of the same. The days of indecision, hesitation and glancing sideways to gauze others' reaction are gone. Bharat has delivered a hard punch. Pakistan's nose was left badly bleeding, forcing it to seek a cessation of active military operations after a devastating strike on night of 10/11 May 2025. Who else had its nose punched maybe in the realm of speculation, but not a secret to any discerning person.
