Phuket to host women's world volleyball

Phuket is among four official Thai venues that have been confirmed to host the FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championship 2025.
A total of 32 teams will be vying for the prestigious world champions title across 64 matches and 14 competition days between Aug 22 and Sept 7.
Teams involved include world ranked number one side and current Olympic champions Italy, world ranked number two team Brazil and world number three ranked team and runners up at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, the United States.
In addition to Phuket, the tournament a historic first for Thailand and Southeast Asia will be staged across Bangkok, Nakhon Ratchasima and Chiang Mai.
Phuket will host matches at the Saphan Hin Municipal Sports Complex in Pool B involving Italy, Belgium, Buba and Slovakia, as well as Pool G, which includes Germany, Poland, Kenya and Vietnam.
Phuket has a long tradition of welcoming international volleyball events, having most recently served as the host city of the 2021 FIVB Under-19 and Under-21 World Championships.
In Bangkok, matches will take place at the 6,000-seater Indoor Stadium Huamark, a venue with extensive experience in hosting international competitions.
